It has become very clear to us through the incredible volume of inquiries we have received that you all are ready to ride! More importantly, thanks for the trust you have put in us as we try to fulfill what is likely a lifelong dream. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to serving you all in the manner that you’ve come to expect from Motorcycle Express.
However, like all of you, much has changed in the return from the pandemic. What we have found is that the services, expertise and abilities that we were able to count on before the pandemic hit have not returned as quickly as we might have hoped now that COVID is in the rearview mirror. That means that the shipping of each motorcycle is taking more time and using up more of our person-hours than the same process pre-coronavirus. The actual shipping is as speedy and reliable as ever; it’s just that it takes more “massaging” to accomplish each shipment.
We are currently in the process of taking steps to increase our through-put. We are hiring more staff, re-jigging certain processes and, frankly, putting in a lot more hours. Nonetheless, our capacity is more limited than it has been in previous years.
So, to be able to provide our unique service — we remain one of the very few companies that can ship your motorcycle uncrated — and to honor our founder, Michael’s commitment to a completely concierge service, we’ve had to make a few (temporary, we hope) accommodations:
What's new today that you need to know:
Bookings for the month of will close on the 1st of that month. Due to the high volume, we will now close each month once the month begins. For example, if you are looking to ship out in July, but have not inquired before July 1st, you will have to ship your bike in August. However, if you have inquired ahead of the first of the month, but have not heard from us, do not worry - all inquiries are date stamped as to when you have sent them and will be honored as such.
May 2023 shipping is closed for new inquiries.
If you have inquired about May 2023 ahead of May 16th, 2023 but have not heard back from us yet you are still in the realm of possible shipping in May if there is availability in cargo.
There is a limited number of shipments each month. Our service is hands-on. We go through the entire shipping process with you. We stay with you through drop off to pick up and reverse. We want to serve you all with our complete hands-on and the utmost attention. In order to maintain this level of service, we have a limited number of reservations each month. To guarantee your place in line, we recommend you reserve now.
There are still a few June bookings available but space is filling up fast. June inquiries will close June 1st, 2023.
Carnets. We have done tremendous research analysis on Carnets and spoke directly with the people who issue carnets. A carnet is not necessary for riders that are taking a personal vacation with their own motorcycle to Europe. It is definitely appropriate for certain countries in the world and here are two terrific links so that you can do your own research as well. ATA CARNETS and CDP CARNETS.
Our Mission Remains
Motorcycle Express Services, Inc. strives only for the level of wheels-up-to-wheels-down service that motorcycle riders have come to expect from Motorcycle Express when shipping their bikes abroad. This has always been a priority to us. And we are immensely gratefully for all the inquiries from all of the riders — some ten-fold this season — who finally have their freedom back. Please know that we are working hard to adjust processes on the back-end to make sure you have a worry-free experience.
